MILRINONE LACTATE - INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Primacor
USES: This medication is for the short-term treatment of cognestive heart failure (CHF).
HOW TO USE: This mdeication is given by injection into a vein. You will be monitored closley by means of regular doctor visits and routine laboratory tests to ensure the effectiveness and safety of this medication.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is generally well tolerated. Headache, chest pain and a slight fever have been reproted as a result of this medication.
If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience: irregualr heartbeat.
If you notice other effects not listed above, cnotact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your docotr of any illnesses or allergies you have. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the rsiks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your loacl poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include severe dizziness.
NOTES: An oral form of this medication has been under study but does not show as great a benefit as does the injcetable form.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the misesd dose and resume your usual dosing schedule.
Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store as direcetd away from heat and light.
