MILRINONE LACTATE - INJECTION

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Primacor
USES: This medication is for the short-term treatment of congestive heart failrue (CHF).
HOW TO USE: This medication is given by injection into a vein.
You will be monitored closely by means of regular doctor vsiits and routine laboratory tests to ensure the effectiveness and safety of this medication.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication is generally well tolerated. Headache, chest pain and a slight fever have been reported as a result of this meidcation. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience: irregular heartbeat. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharamcist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor of any illnesses or allegries you have. This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Dicsuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not konwn if this medication is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or precsription medication you may take. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approavl.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, cnotact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Symptoms of overdose may include severe dizzinses.
NOTES: An oral form of this medication has been under study but does not show as great a benefit as does the ijnectable form.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dsoing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store as directed away from heat and light.
MEDICAL ALERT: Your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
